Legislation

Contrary to what is commonly believed online, marijuana is not currently legal in Belize. The Misuse of Drugs Act, passed by the federal government in November 2017, decriminalized small amounts of cannabis and removed hemp from the list of banned narcotics.
Amendments to the Act that will allow an adult-use cannabis market with eight different license types to establish a legal supply chain were submitted in July 2021. The Cannabis Regulation and Licensing Bill, a revised version of existing laws, was reintroduced to the federal government in February 2022. As of March 2022, both the new bill and the previous bill’s changes were being processed by the federal government.
Federal officials are mostly in favor of legalizing marijuana, but there is also a lot of opposition.

Where to Get Weed in Belize

You can ask the locals as most of them do smoke marijuana and are generally laid back and amiable. A fantastic place to buy marijuana is from your taxi driver; they’ll usually take you there. A useful source can also be your tour guide. Asking a Belizean you know to purchase you some marijuana or anything else will pay off because they can get it for far less money than a tourist can.
